Dr. Ken Bruecker is a board-certified veterinary surgeon with an additional board certification in sports medicine and rehabilitation. A UC Davis graduate, he completed his surgical residency and master’s degree at Colorado State University, and has since become widely regarded as a leader in small animal orthopedics.

Dr. Bruecker has been instrumental in advancing techniques in arthroscopy, limb deformity correction, cranial cruciate ligament repair, and spinal surgery. He has contributed to the development of multiple orthopedic implants and holds the patent for the first locking Triple Pelvic Osteotomy plate for the management of hip dysplasia. He is the founder of COVE (Continuing Orthopedic Veterinary Education) and continues to teach and lecture nationally and internationally.

At Cerro Alto, Dr. Bruecker is excited to collaborate with our surgical team, focusing on advanced orthopedic and sports medicine care. His approach blends technical excellence with mentorship, education, and a genuine commitment to elevating patient outcomes.

Outside of surgery, he enjoys time on his family’s avocado and citrus ranches, working on classic cars, and spending time outdoors. He is excited to support the advancement of specialty veterinary care along California’s Central Coast.
