Evan Ross

DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)
Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist

With deep family roots on California’s Central Coast, Dr. Evan Ross has always considered the region a second home. Now, he’s thrilled to return as a veterinary cardiologist at Cerro Alto Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital.

A graduate of UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ross completed a rigorous rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles, followed by a cardiology internship at Kansas State University, where he refined his skills in advanced cardiac imaging and therapy. He then served as an emergency veterinarian at BluePearl, thriving in high-stakes, critical-care settings, before completing a prestigious cardiology residency at Colorado State University.

Board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology), Dr. Ross has a special passion for interventional cardiology—catheter-based procedures that can help pets avoid open-chest surgery. His expertise includes pacemaker implantation, balloon valvuloplasty, and minimally invasive correction of congenital heart defects. He is eager to collaborate with Dr. Raleigh on the most challenging and complex cases in the region.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Ross enjoys exploring local coffee roasters, cheering on the Giants, and hiking coastal bluff trails with his dog and two adventurous cats. He’s excited to bring cutting-edge cardiology care—and a warm, approachable style—to the pets and families of San Luis Obispo County.
